Leeds United are closing in on a deal for Tottenham star Manor Solomon but that will not stop them making a move for another attacker they have been tracking for months.

Israel star Solomon is expected to be announced at some point on Tuesday. The Spurs ace is fit again after tearing the meniscus in his knee and is set to join on loan as he gets his career back on track.

The addition of Solomon will see Leeds bring in two attacking players after losing Crysencio Summerville and Georginio Rutter. Daniel Farke said he wanted two attackers, a goalscoring midfielder and a full-back.

But despite the additions of Largie Ramazani and Solomon, Leeds could still go back in for another player to strengthen the final third in the form of Freiburg and Hungary star Roland Sallai in the coming days.

Leeds are pushing hard to sign Roland Sallai in £7.6m deal

Sallai has starred in the Bundesliga over the last few years for Freiburg, but has now entered the final year of his contract and could be available. He has played on both flanks, as a no.10 and a second striker.

Belgian reporter Sacha Tavolieri says Leeds are ‘pushing hard’ to sign Sallai before the deadline in a deal worth £7.6m. Now, the Yorkshire Evening Post deliver an update regarding a possible move for Sallai.

They say that Leeds have been tracking Sallai for months and will still be interested despite the signing of Solomon. They say they thought the “consistent” star was unavailable until different noises last week.

Where does Sallai fit into Leeds side after Solomon, Ramazani?

All of a sudden, Leeds are well-stocked in attack again. The losses of Rutter and Summerville saw Leeds wave goodbye to players that produced 24 goals and assists, and 31 goals and assists during 2023-24.

Leeds needed more depth even after the return of Brenden Aaronson, who has scored two goals in three league games. Ramazani is an out-and-out winger, while Solomon can be used in attacking midfield.

But with Aaronson, Dan James and Wilfried Gnonto already at the club and now Solomon and Ramazani vying for a start – a move for Sallai seems unnecessary even if the Hungarian is a top-class operator.
