The Eagles have rejected multiple bids from the Magpies for the England international defender, but Newcastle is eager to move forward and has told Palace they are willing to pay £65 million up front, with the remaining £5 million coming in add-ons. Normally, transfers this size are spread out over several years, but the Toons are prepared to make Guehi their most expensive signing to date this summer. Newcastle United has made a fresh offer of up to £70 million for Crystal Palace center-back Marc Guehi, according to the Times.

Alexander Isak, a striker for Sweden, currently holds that record. Newcastle paid Real Sociedad £63 million to acquire Isak in August 2022.

With manager Eddie Howe eager to add Guehi to his back line, the Tyne and Wear club is more than willing to spend a lot of money once more.

The 24-year-old was among the top performers at the European Championship earlier in the summer, and his spectacular backfield exploits helped the Three Lions reach the final.

The Chelsea academy alumnus has what it takes to help Newcastle progress, and Crystal may find it difficult to turn down their most recent offer.

Last season, the Magpies scored 62 goals in the Premier League, placing seventh in the standings and missing out on Europe completely as eighth-place Manchester United won the FA Cup and automatically qualified for the Europa League.

Howe wants his side to improve significantly at the back this term, and he knows the addition of Guehi to the defence would go a long way.
