Luke McCowan’s transfer to Celtic is a dream come true for the midfielder, who grew up supporting the Hoops.

His move from Dundee to Celtic Park was finalised in the final moments of the transfer window, with both sides agreeing a deal worth £1 million for the former Dee captain.

In his first interview with Celtic TV, McCowan expressed a mix of disbelief and excitement over his move.

“It’s a bit surreal sitting here with the hoops on. I don’t even know how to put it into words. It’s just something I’ve been desperate to get done as soon as I knew they were interested. I’m desperate to get to work and show that I’m a player who can play for this club and hopefully help going forward.

“On the last day, I didn’t really know much about what was happening, just an enquiry here and there. Then come the final day, final hours and final minutes I think it was, it was getting done. I couldn’t care how it was getting done, but I’m here now and it’s been a good ride.”

Sky Sports captured a brilliant moment that showed McCowan totally over the moon while he walked out of the tunnel wearing the hoops on Friday night, not long after he signed his three-year deal.

He was the final signing of the window and the third of deadline day, after Auston Trusty and Arne Engles were also confirmed.

In the end, it was a good window from Celtic, it took time to get deals done, but some good business was carried out in the end.
