The chairman of Crystal Palace, Steve Parish, has praised his player’s handling of the situation this summer. Liverpool was not the only team interested in Crystal Palace striker Eberechi Eze.
Since Michael Olise left Palace this summer, the England international has developed into a dynamic attacking midfield player and has become a star for the team. After Bayern Munich signed the winger, supporters worried if they would lose another important player, but he decided to stay with the team.
Marc Guehi, a defender, was also being linked to Newcastle and Liverpool, but the London team persisted in insisting that its important players stay in Oliver Glasner’s side. Fabrizio Romano revealed that Liverpool had expressed interest in Eze in late June. At the time, Fabrizio Romano stated that the matter was still in its early phases and that conversations between Liverpool and Eberechi Eze had not yet progressed.
“Nothing is advanced in negotiations at the moment,” he stated through Playback. For Liverpool and Eze, the situation is still in its early phases and has not progressed. The BBC had claimed that Palace was holding out for a £60 million sum, but Parish has since stepped out and stated he anticipated further interest in the “outstanding” player.
He told Sky Sports, “I was really worried about losing Michael and Ebs in the same window from a club standpoint.” “We weren’t as interested in Ebs as I had anticipated being. I was shocked. Honestly amazed. The guy is really an amazing football player and a fantastic person, really. He is a treasure for any soccer team.
“I don’t think any fan of Crystal Palace would object if Ebs decided to play at the greatest level at some point. We are thrilled that he is back in the squad and playing frequently for England.
It would not have made sense for Liverpool to go for Eze because of their loaded midfield. Dominik Szoboszlai and Harvey Elliott are already contracted to fulfill roles deemed comparable to those offered by the Palace star. His total skill level is really good, as demonstrated by his outstanding performance against Chelsea over the weekend.
