Dr Rajpal Brar claims that West Ham defender Aaron Cresswell could miss up to 12 weeks due to a hamstring issue.
The injury expert says it’s hard to assess the issue because Julen Lopetegui hasn’t provided a comeback date and has only said that it was a setback during training.
The scans will provide a more precise indication of the severity, but as of right now, everything is possible.
Brar, a sports scientist and physical therapy specialist, exclusively spoke with West Ham Zone.
We don’t have any updates on the injury, so it’s hard to say how terrible it is.
Since it’s a hamstring injury sustained during warm-up, it’s difficult to determine from the description alone.
“The worst-case scenario would be a Grade 4 complete rupture requiring surgery, meaning a 12-week recovery period before returning to play.
“He will have had a scan, which would provide information about the situation that we are not aware of.”
For West Ham, Aaron Cresswell is anticipated to play a supporting role.
The 34-year-old English left-back finds it more difficult to be a regular for the Hammers due to his fitness concerns.
Cresswell played in just 11 Premier League games the previous season, and after a year, he might not still be with the team.
When the season ends, his contract will be up, and Julen Lopetegui won’t have had anything to show for a new contract.
