According to Football Transfers, Arsenal intends to sabotage Tottenham Hotspur’s attempt to sign Eberechi Eze in the upcoming season.

The 26-year-old garnered interest from numerous elite Premier League clubs this summer after showcasing his skills for Crystal Palace the previous season, and Spurs were strongly connected with a move for him.

But in the end, the Lilywhites decided against registering their interest, and he continued to reside at Selhurst Park. According to Football Transfers, Tottenham and the player came to a gentleman’s agreement so that Tottenham could sign him.

The player’s perspective changed, though, when Spurs’ opponent—thought to be Arsenal—entered the scene and advised him to reconsider his options.

Arsenal is now prepared to sabotage Tottenham’s attempt to recruit Eze since the Crystal Palace star is now eager to play for a top-four team and Mikel Arteta “likes” players similar to him. The forward’s current deal includes a £68 million release clause, which will be activated again the following summer.

The article also claims that Manchester City is involved, so the Gunners will likely have fierce competition from Pep Guardiola’s team to complete any possible move for him.

He is being paid £100,000 a week at Selhurst Park and is a technically sound player with the right qualities to fit into Arteta’s system. The Crystal Palace star would be a wise addition to Arsenal if they were to sign him because he is currently in the prime of his career.

It would be intriguing to watch, though, if the North London team decides to take more decisive action to get his signature in the upcoming season.
