On Sunday, Tottenham Hotspur lost 1-0 to Arsenal at home in a frustrating contest in which the home team had the majority of the possession but was left empty-handed.
Declan Rice and captain Martin Odegaard were absent for the Gunners, who won thanks to Gabriel’s header in the 64th minute. Their absences were felt at times as Spurs outplayed their opponents, but all it took for the visitors to undo all of Tottenham’s hard work up to that point was a little defensive error on an Arsenal corner kick.
“I felt the game was tight from start to finish,” Ange Postecoglou, the manager of Tottenham, stated to BBC Match of the Day. “We got off to a good start and mostly dominated the situation. We failed to take advantage of the opportunities and failed to capitalize on them.
“We stopped focusing on the objective. We just momentarily turned off against some really strong players that are in there and really attack the ball.

“I believe I’ve talked enough. We had excellent territory and possession today and, for the most part, controlled the game; yet, we failed to capitalize on our opportunities and were penalized.”
