Bryan King is supporting Aston Villa’s decision to extend Jhon Duran’s contract at Villa Park.
The 20-year-old’s “incredible” strike against Everton on Saturday, September 14, left the former Villa scout speechless.
Duran, who came off the bench, scored the game-winning goal from long range as Unai Emery’s team overcame a two-goal deficit to defeat the Toffees 3-2 at Villa Park.
Furthermore, King emphasized that the Villans must now develop Duran into a player for the future in an exclusive interview with
King remarked, “Duran came on and scored a wonder goal.”
“It was an amazing strike.” It’s fantastic that Emery has that choice, whether Duran or Ollie Watkins starts.
What a goal to win a game, to be able to alter it and bring on a player of Duran’s caliber who can score goals like that. Should he keep scoring goals at that rate, I believe his value will increase.
But he has a deal with Aston Villa. Thus, Villa must decide whether to give him a new contract or to extend his current one in order to develop him into a player for the future.
After his amazing goal against Everton, Jhon Duran is set to sign a new deal with Aston Villa.
Villa and Duran already have a deal that runs through 2028. But in the summer, he was on the verge of quitting the club.
Now that the Colombian has been retained by the team, Emery must be relieved. This season, Duran has scored three crucial goals for Villa in the Premier League—all from the bench.
As a result, the club will undoubtedly have a different long-term position on the player.
Duran’s current contract has four years left on it, but he’s sure to draw increasing interest from suitors throughout Europe.
Villa would be well to sign him to more benevolent terms as a result.
