Knowing that the New York Jets had just managed to secure a victory, Aaron Rodgers gave a fist pump as he left the field after securing a win in Tennessee.

Even though they prevailed in a close game, the quarterback recognized that they could still do better.

After the 24-17 victory on Sunday, Aaron Rodgers remarked, “We’re not quite there yet, but good teams can close out games in tough environments.” In the future, we will be extremely appreciative of this one.

The Jets now have a serious injury problem as they get ready for their season’s third game in 11 days.

Jermaine Johnson, an edge rusher, revealed on social media on Monday that he had torn his right Achilles tendon.

An MRI verified the injuries that the 25-year-old Johnson sustained when he was carted off the field in the third quarter, the player revealed in a 22-second video that he posted on X and Instagram.

We’re feeling really good, Johnson remarked. “Let’s get it, we’re going to get back right, and this is just another chance to brag about where I came from.”

Johnson’s injury makes it more urgent for the Jets and Haason Reddick to work out a deal for his contract. After being acquired from Philadelphia in March, Reddick has not been with the team since April 1 as he works to negotiate an extension.

After allowing 401 total yards in the season opener against San Francisco and 300 yards at Tennessee, the defense has fallen short of expectations.

The run defense did see some improvement, though. The Jets held Tony Pollard to 62 yards on 17 attempts after letting 49ers backup Jordan Mason dash for a career-high 147 yards. Thirty-eight yards of Tennessee’s total 130 rushing yards came from scrambling quarterback Will Levis, who was sacked four times.
