Chris Brown has denied being anti-Semitic after being seen on camera smiling and dancing to Kanye West’s controversial new song “Vultures”.
On Sunday night (November 26), West, singer Ty Dolla $ign, and rapper Bump J surprised fans by performing their latest single at Lil Durk’s event at Dubai’s Blu nightclub.
A video of the incident surfaced after it was uploaded on the club’s Instagram. In the video, Brown can be seen nodding his head to the beat while standing next to West, who sings along to his lyrics: “How am I antisemitic?” I just f***ed a Jewish woman.”
Brown, 34, has faced backlash on social media for appearing to giggle at the “Flashing Lights” artist’s racy lyrics.
The “Under the Influence” singer responded to the reaction that night by stating on his Instagram Story, “I am not antisemitic in any way, shape, or form!!! I am pro-life and compose music for the entire globe.
“So please do not get tricked into thinking I spread hate or am kool [sic] with it,” Brown said. “This is for the millions of young kids that look up to me and my [sic] be confused.”
Last year, West’s career suffered significant damage after he made a series of anti-Semitic statements in interviews and social media posts.
Adidas discontinued their years-long agreement with him in October 2022, citing his “unacceptable, hateful, and dangerous” comments about Jews and the Black Lives Matter movement.
The termination of his lucrative contract with the sports organization resulted in West losing his billionaire status overnight.
West is currently believed to be married to former coworker Bianca Censori. He and ex-wife Kim Kardashian have four children: North (10), Saint (7), Chicago (5), and Psalm (4).
Brown has also been a source of controversy after pleading guilty to criminal assault against his then-girlfriend Rihanna in 2009.
Earlier this year, he brought his Under The Influence tour to the UK, marking Brown’s first solo tour in the country since 2010.
Brown was nominated for Best R&B in August for his appearance on Chlöe’s “How Does It Feel”.
Selena Gomez scrunched her nose as the Best R&B nominations were announced at the September awards ceremony.
