According to the team’s official injury report, linebacker C.J. Mosley of the New York Jets did not practice ahead of Thursday’s game against the New England Patriots for the second day in a row.
Due to a torn Achilles tendon, defensive end Jermaine Johnson was the other player who did not practice. Johnson is out for the season. Until the Jets decide to move on his roster space, he is already designated as out for the week and is on the report as a procedural move.
Following the confirmation of his diagnosis on Monday, Johnson wrote a statement to his New York supporters. His procedure has not yet been scheduled.
Mosley discussed how his in-game injury against the Tennessee Titans occurred with reporters on Tuesday, including those from ESPN.
He claimed that he “banged” his toe on a Titans player during the opening series of Sunday’s game against Tennessee. He claimed that he made an effort to overcome the wound. He stated he was still uncomfortable and that he was “50-50” to play.
Mosley’s argument isn’t helped by the quick turnaround because the Jets have one more practice before their home opener on Wednesday.
Tyron Smith, the offensive tackle, was the lone limited participant on the report because he had taken a veteran rest day earlier in the week. Considering that the All-Pro hasn’t participated in a complete season of play since 2015, New York is keeping his weekday workouts mild.
Running back Breece Hall (quadricep), cornerback D.J. Reed, and cornerback Michael Carter II all advanced to full participation.
Reed is noteworthy since Jets coach Robert Saleh thought the cornerback was ready to go for Tennessee last Friday morning. However, Reed was available for the Tennessee game and was then ruled out.
After Reed’s Sunday knee exam, New York decided to hold him out of the match.
Saleh stated on Monday that Carter’s ankle injury, which he had previously sustained against Tennessee, will probably not get better for the entire season.
In contrast to the Patriots, whose injury report resembles a hospital waiting room, the Jets are comparatively healthy.
Four players on the Patriots’ injury report did not practice on Tuesday: lineman Sidy Sow (ankle), offensive tackle Vederian Lowe (knee), middle linebacker Ja’Whaun Bentley (shoulder), and linebacker Oshane Ximines (unspecified).
Center Along with linebacker Anfernee Jennings (knee), cornerback Marcus Jones (knee), offensive tackle Mike Onwenu (hand), free safety Jabrill Peppers (shoulder), guard Layden Robinson (shoulder), and defensive end Deatrich Wise (shoulder), David Andrews (hip) was promoted to a limited participant.
