In order to help replace Isiah Pacheco, who may miss the entire season due to an ankle injury, the Chiefs are expecting to have veteran running back Kareem Hunt back on the field within the next few weeks as he becomes acclimated to the offense.
Andy Reid, the Chiefs coach, stated on Wednesday that it’s unlikely that Justin Hunt will be ready to play when the team travels to Atlanta this coming weekend. He did not, however, rule out Hunt’s imminent return, particularly if he is able to recall the terminology and route ideas he was taught during his first two seasons in Kansas City.
“I’d like to find out where he is. Reid remarked, “I hope to see him working today.” “When I see where he is, I’ll be better able to make my judgment.”

Tuesday, only two days after Pacheco hurt his ankle in the last moments of the Chiefs’ 26-25 victory over Cincinnati, Hunt became a member of the practice squad. The duration of Pacheco’s absence from surgery, which was arranged for this Wednesday, is yet unknown.

The Chiefs will probably rely on veteran Samaje Perine and undrafted rookie Carson Steele against the Falcons this Sunday night. To provide even more assistance, they also promoted practice squad member Keaontay Ingram, a third-year player.
“He provided us with a pretty nice camp. Reid stated, “We felt confident in promoting him. “You’re supposed to be prepared to play if you get promoted, and I believe he has.” He put a lot of effort into the scout team.
Hunt’s career has come full circle, and he will begin with the scout team this coming week.
He was selected by the Chiefs from Toledo in the third round of the 2017 NFL Draft, and as a rookie, he set a league record by running for 1,327 yards and eight touchdowns. The next season, he played in 11 games alongside starting quarterback Patrick Mahomes and rushed for 824 yards and seven touchdowns.
