Ola Aina, a defender with the Super Eagles, has addressed rumors circulating both domestically and internationally that he is in negotiations with Nottingham Forest for a new long-term contract.
On Thursday, Allnigeriasoccer.com revealed that Ola Aina and Nottingham Forest were in talks for a new four-year contract that would, if an agreement is reached, keep Aina at the City Ground until the end of the 2027–2028 campaign.
After his contract at Torino expired last summer, Aina joined Nottingham Forest on a free transfer.
The two-time European champions are eager to sign him to a new, multi-year contract because of his consistently outstanding performances.
The Chelsea academy graduate has proven he is a very excellent player by consistently putting up strong performances.
And considering that he was playing against the hot Colombian striker Luis Díaz, who had already scored three goals and provided an assist in the Premier League before to the matchday four encounter, his final Forest game versus Liverpool at Anfield called for an incredible performance.
Aina told BBC Radio Nottinghamshire that he was “really happy at Forest right now” in response to a question about whether or not he was in talks with Forest over a new long-term contract. Wonderful group; we’re still developing and I feel at home.
“Both the club and I are building. Let’s wait and see what occurs later.
Aina joined Nottingham Forest with a one-year contract in hand, but the Reds activated an option to extend it by a further twelve months. As it stands, Aina has about nine months left on his contract.
