Boston — The Bruins’ most notable free agent addition was absent from Friday’s training camp practice.
Elias Lindholm, who inked a 7-year, $7.75 million (average annual value) contract with Boston on Day 1 of free agency, was not present for Day 2 practice.
Bruins coach Jim Montgomery claimed it was only a maintenance day.
“Cautious. He was, I’m not sure if sore is the correct term,” Montgomery explained. “I informed him he wasn’t practicing today. “Take a maintenance day.”
Lindholm played first-line center alongside David Pastrnak and Pavel Zacha on Thursday.
“Perhaps he was not used to the Czech tempo. Pastrnak joked, “That’s why he needed a day off today.”
