Dan Campbell, the coach of the Detroit Lions, spoke to the media earlier today and gave updates on a long range of players, including Marcus Davenport, Brian Branch, Sam LaPorta, and Derrick Barnes. Campbell didn’t provide an update on Lions All-Pro center Frank Ragnow because, at the time, we were unaware that he was apparently also battling with a partially-torn pectoral.

However, Campbell was questioned about Ragnow’s chances of winning this week against the Seattle Seahawks during a Tuesday morning radio broadcast on 97.1 The Ticket. Apart from Ragnow’s desire to play, Campbell didn’t provide much information.

Frank is obstinate, to start. Frank is a hard-headed man. Because of his toughness and stubbornness, he always wants to go, according to Campbell. However, we’re still having conversations about this. I have no idea what we will do with him in the end. Much of it revolves around how he will feel by the middle or end of the week.

“However, he did play through part of this last week, so there is something in there. In the end, we’ll act in his best interests as well as our own. But we all feel the same way I do about Frank. Thank you so much for him. Man, he’s tough.

According to NFL Network, Ragnow is allegedly week-to-week, and recovery times for partially torn pectoral muscles can vary greatly based on the tear’s severity. It appears that we will have to wait a little bit longer to find out if Ragnow is out for Week 4 or anything else.

In the meanwhile, the Lions have a handful of possibilities at center. They could shift Michael Niese from the bench to center field, or they could send Graham Glasgow, who is currently playing left guard, back there. This offseason, Niese primarily practiced guard, but he also spent camp cross-training at center.
