Reversing course Kareem Hunt was added to the 53-man roster last week and is expected to make his 2024 debut with the Chiefs this week after formally rejoining the team last week.

In an interview with the media on Wednesday, he expressed how happy he was to be rejoining the group that had drafted him and to see so many familiar faces.

During his news conference, Hunt remarked, “I see a lot of talent around here.” “Ever since I moved here, they have shown a lot of talent. And I’ve just witnessed how Hunt] has developed into this team’s leader. I played with Alex [Smith] my rookie year, and he was just like that. I am really happy with him now that I realize what a player he has become.”

When Hunt first joined Kansas City as a rookie in 2017, he set a league record for rushing yards. However, he was freed in 2018 after it was revealed that he had kicked and pushed a woman. After that, he played for Cleveland from 2019 to 2023, missing out on the three Super Bowl rings that his former colleagues took home.

Hunt remarked, “It was difficult, but I had to focus only on the good, positive things.” “When Coach Reid won multiple Super Bowls, I got really excited.” I also wanted to be the one to assist him in doing it. I still have a lot of close friends on this team, and I’m really happy for them to succeed in their endeavors.

He now gets to assist many of those same people in their attempt to return Kansas City with another Lombardi Trophy.

That has, after all, been my aim. Every football player, in my opinion, should aspire to win a championship ring, stated Hunt. And for me, it will be the realization of a childhood dream. I’m so happy to support these men in defending their title, visit this place again, and meet so many familiar faces and family members.

Hunt reported that he feels well after having a hernia repaired during the offseason. He started to get himself back into football shape by being on the field last week, taking scout-team reps. Hunt feels more than capable of having the same kind of influence on the field as he did during his first tenure with Kansas City, despite the fact that he is 29 years old.

Hunt remarked, “I think I’m very capable of that still.” “I can’t wait to go shock the world and prove to them that I’m still got it.”
