Since taking over at West Ham, Julen Lopetegui has simply been unable to establish any consistency, and the team’s most dismal performance of the season came in the loss to Chelsea last time out.

All of that, though, might be forgotten if the Hammers win at Anfield and go to the Carabao Cup’s next round.

The owners strongly supported the West Ham manager throughout the summer transfer window, spending over £100 million on players like Max Kilman and Crysencio Summerville, so the manager can’t really complain.

West Ham chose Niclas Fullkrug as their striker, but things haven’t gone well for him because of an injury already.

Now, one of West Ham’s main summer objectives has become available because to a move by Lopetegui’s present club.

Jhon Duran made available for transfer by Aston Villa

Following Fullkrug’s injury, West Ham continues to rely on players like Michail Antonio and Danny Ings to lead their line, a strategy that hasn’t exactly worked out for them.

After just five games in the Premier League, it is clear that the Hammers need a young, quick striker, but they will now have to wait until January.

The player Julen Lopetegui attempted to sign during the summer transfer window has now become available, which is interesting.

Give Me Sport claims that Unai Emery is willing to allow Jhon Duran to depart from Aston Villa.

Emery is not actively looking for a buyer, but he is willing to cash in on Duran as long as the incoming money is put back into the team. Villa is in favor of holding onto him for the whole season before reevaluating their position come summertime.

Jhon Duran’s season to date at Aston Villa

This season, Jhon Duran has been one of Aston Villa’s best players, having come through twice to save them.

This season, he has already netted five goals in seven games and four goals in four Premier League substitute appearances.

The Villans’ winning run has now reached three games thanks to late goals against Wolves and Everton. Luis Diaz and Morgan Rogers were thrilled by Duran’s performance against Everton.

Fabrizio Romano, according to Give Me Sport, interestingly stated that he was West Ham’s “dream target” during the summer, suggesting that they may want to explore a possible move.
