Andy Murray has declared that ‘nobody cares’ about the next Six Kings Slam in Saudi Arabia.

With a group of tennis A-listers ready to take the courts, the Middle Eastern city is getting ready to host the most lavish tennis event of 2024 in October. Despite competing on the court, competitors in this newcomer to the tennis scene will not earn any ATP points because it is considered an exhibition match.

But what’s really enticing elite talent to throw down their rackets and fight from October 16–19 is the massive prize money. Jannik Sinner, Daniil Medvedev, Rafael Nadal, Novak Djokovic, Carlos Alcaraz, and Holger Rune are all expected to make an appearance at The Venue in Riyadh.

According to the Express, they are all earning at least £1.12 million simply for attending; this amount surpasses the money earned by the Wimbledon losing semi-finalists this past summer. A staggering £4.5 million will be awarded to the player who wins the tournament’s king, which is almost twice as much as Sinner won earlier this month at the US Open.

Murray, for one, is not satisfied with the performance and has made his feelings known on social media. Tennis player Liam Broady posted a teaser trailer for the video on X, stating, “I’m speechless about how amazing this advertisement is.” Probably the best tennis match I’ve ever watched.

“I’d watch this film. 10 out of 10. Unfazed by the video, Murray gave a sardonic thumbs up in response, adding, “But it’s not a movie and you won’t watch it because it’s an exhibition tennis event that nobody cares about.” The six athletes scheduled to compete in Saudi Arabia were featured in an opulent five-minute film that was launched by the Six Kings Slam last Friday.

The Los Perez-produced video has received a ton of positive feedback and increased excitement for the luxury tournament, which is now just a few weeks away. It depicts each celebrity in grand historical settings that are infused with a little of their individuality and culture. Sinner portrays a Renaissance genius crafting magic with his racquet, Rune is seen leading a Viking ship cleaving through the sea with a thunderous backhand, and Alcaraz faces off against an android in a court hanging above a wide desert.

As Nadal turns into a massive clay statue in honor of his dominance over the red ground, Medvedev gallops into the spotlight atop a bear. Next, ensconced in a wintry wasteland, growling defiance at wolves as Djokovic lights up the court with a furious rally. The competition begins on October 16 in Riyadh.
