Even while Samaras doesn’t think the Denmark international is nearly ready to play for one of the top 4 teams in the Premier League, he does anticipate that a lot of teams, both in England and on the continent, will be interested in signing the midfield player:

“There’s no doubt about it—he can play for any team. Although playing for any of the top four teams in England would be more challenging and he is probably not ready to join those teams just yet, I have complete faith in his potential to compete on par in the Premier League. It will come down to who can afford him.

“With Matt O’Riley, Celtic have a very expensive asset, and I have no doubt they will fetch a huge transfer fee for him.” By the way, I’m not only referring to the Premier League; this is a player I could see succeeding at any of the major European leagues, including Spain, Portugal, Germany, and Italy.

What price could Celtic get for O’Riley?

Over the previous 12 months, the Scottish champions are thought to have turned down offers for O’Riley totaling £10 million from Leeds and £18 million from Atletico Madrid.

One of Celtic’s most valuable assets, the 23-year-old is rumored to be seeking to get more than the £25 million Arsenal spent for Kieran Tierney in 2018.

Which teams are considering the player?

Apart from Leeds and Atletico Madrid, it is also stated that the Dane has been closely watched by Manchester United, Newcastle, Liverpool, Arsenal, Crystal Palace, and Leicester.

We’ll have to wait and watch if any of these teams decide to express further interest in O’Riley and submit formal bids at the end of the season.
