Leeds United look to be closing in on an agreement to sell Rasmus Kristensen permanently to Eintracht Frankfurt, after a bright start to life in the Bundesliga.

Leeds had issues in the summer thanks to a number of clauses present in players’ contracts, seeing a bit of a hangover from the loan clauses rife from 2023.

Rasmus Kristensen and Jack Harrison were the only two remaining that were able to secure temporary exits this season.

Eintracht Frankfurt set to complete Rasmus Kristensen agreement upwards of £10m

Sky Sports Germany journalist Florian Plettenberg has reported this week that right-back Kristensen has made a strong impression at Eintracht already this season.

So much so that the Bundesliga side have decided to expedite their permanent buy option for the Danish defender and secure his services beyond the loan.

A fee in the region of €10-12million (£8.4-10.1million) is already in place between the two clubs:

Kristensen has been a regular starter in the same back four as Robin Koch, following a similar redemption arc as the German – helping Dino Toppmoller’s side to a bright Bundesliga start, including a thrilling 3-3 draw against Bayern Munich last time out.

Leeds to bank eight figures for a flop signing that doesn’t have a future here

The fact that Leeds are looking at breaking even for a player signed more than two years ago and has only been good for a few months is remarkable.

It’s a great boost to the coffers to have Kristensen bringing in a likely £10million this season, perhaps with a view to January in the process too.

A permanent exit would be best for all parties, given he has no future here, looks happy at his current club, and they are willing to pay top dollar to keep him.
