In a huge manner, Simone Biles is showing her love for her husband Jonathan Owens. She’s keeping him close even though she can’t be there to cheer him on during his most recent NFL games.
Yesterday, September 18, the 27-year-old Olympian teased on social media that she and a few of her teammates from the Gold Over America tour were going to get tattoos together.
Sydney Smith, a tattoo artist, later shared the two pieces of ink she had done for Simone on social media, one of which had the phrase “made in heaven” inscribed on the back of her neck.
The other is a small “J” next to her ring finger nail, honoring her husband. Actually, the ink matches Jonathan’s own that he received in July when he received the letter “S” on his own ring finger before to her trip to Paris.
The highly renowned gymnast already has seven tattoos on her body that are confirmed to exist, ranging from her inside lip to her arm. In 2017, she received her first deeply important tattoo.
She received the five famous Olympic rings on her right forearm following her triumphant return from her first Olympic Games in 2016 with five medals. She raved on social media after, saying, “It’s never too late to get the rings tatted.”
She had the Maya Angelou quote “And still I rise” inked on her collarbone in 2021, and she flaunted it with a picture of herself in a swimwear. Then, as a tribute to the year of her birth, she had “1997” permanently inked above her elbow. Additionally, she has the word “Golden” tattooed on her body, though it’s not quite evident where.
Although Simone has two small butterflies on the back of her right hand, her most subtle tattoo is really the one you wouldn’t expect: the letters “XO” on the inside of her lip.

Simone revealed to NBC Sports that “XO” was actually her second body art piece, stating at the time that it was a little faded. I must have it touched up. I’ve always wanted a lip tattoo since I’ve heard they’re painless. Thus, I went and obtained one.”
Not too long after turning 21, she cheekily revealed the tattoo’s meaning, adding, “It has something to do with [turning 21],” With haste, she said, “I’m a good child!
