Simone Biles is scheduled to launch her first restaurant in early 2025, so travelers flying through Houston’s George Bush Intercontinental Airport will soon have the opportunity to dine like a champ, according to a press release. Taste of Gold is the appropriate moniker given that Biles is the most decorated gymnast in the world.
Francisco Cuellar, Chief Commercial Development Officer for Houston Airports, stated in a statement, “Bush Airport is proud to offer one of the best airport culinary experiences in the world and it’s only going to get better.” We become one of the millions of individuals who look up to Simone Biles as an athlete who consistently raises the bar while succeeding and going against the norm. Houston Airports is redefining what it means to eat inside an airport while also creating history.
Biles joined forces with renowned restaurateur Mark Brezinski of Dallas and the Playmakers Group, the same organization that runs the airport eateries owned by former NHL goalie Marty Turo and retired NBA player Dirk Nowitzki.
Taste of Gold will feature “vibrant, bold flavors of world-class and elevated Tex-Mex cuisine,” according to Eater Houston, about the meal itself.
In the press release, Biles stated, “I am very excited to partner with The Playmakers Group and their dedicated team to help bring a new restaurant to my hometown airport.” “As a foodie at heart, our goal with Taste of Gold is to provide our guests with an exquisite dining experience that includes award-winning, signature menu items infused with some of my favorite flavors.”
The location of Taste of Gold is at Terminal A, close to Gate A8. Millions of passengers come through Bush Intercontinental, one of the busiest airports in the country. It received more than 46 million visitors in 2023. Furthermore, according to the press release, the airport “ranks among the Top 10 World’s Best Airport Dining Experiences in 2024.”
