Ryan Longman was reportedly on the verge of joining Wrexham in a £500,000 raid on Hull City on Tuesday.
Longman was also desired by Oxford United, but Wrexham was said to have “outbid” them.
Gary Rowett made a suggestion that Wrexham had signed Longman, and it now seems like the deal is getting closer.
According to The Mirror, Longman will now have a medical before joining Wrexham.
With Wrexham prepared to finally welcome Longman to the STōK Cae Ras, the £500,000 fee is brought up once more.
Longman was wanted by Wrexham during the summer, and it looks like a deal is now finalized.
Although Longman won’t be signed in time for Thursday night’s match against Birmingham City, we might see him in the stands cheering on his new colleagues.
Andy Cannon’s previous remarks about Ryan Longman Longman, 24, is a versatile player who can play in a variety of positions. He has played as a winger or wing back on both flanks and even as a striker. After his transfer is finalized, Longman will rejoin George Dobson and Ollie Palmer, but he will also be back with Andy Cannon. The two briefly met at Hull City, but Cannon was impressed enough to praise Longman in 2021 after the wide player set him up for a preseason goal against Scunthorpe United.
According to Cannon, Longman was “superb” and caused a lot of issues with his overall quality.
“Longy was excellent down the line; I believe he gave them trouble for a good portion of the game,” Cannon remarked.
He appears to be a really skilled player. He cut in, and I yelled for him to set me. I let it fly, and fortunately it went to top corner. For a preseason objective, I went a little too far! However, I’m hoping to do that in the upcoming league,” he continued.
At Wrexham, Cannon and Longman will team up once more in the hopes of earning promotion to the Championship.
