Blackburn Rovers were among the clubs interested in Hull City-bound Aston Villa prodigy Louie Barry, the Lancashire Telegraph has said.
Blackburn Rovers have had a quiet winter transfer window to date but there’s hope they can strike more deals before deadline day on February 3rd.
So far, the only incomings have been Dion Sanderson and Adam Forshaw. The former is on loan from Birmingham City, while the latter has joined on a contract until the end of the season from strugglers Plymouth Argyle.
John Eustace has seen his midfield and defence bolstered by those two, but the need for attacking reinforcements is a growing one. Plenty have been linked, and it has now emerged Louie Barry was on the radar.
The Lancashire Telegraph reports that Blackburn Rovers were among the numerous sides interested in a loan deal for the Aston Villa starlet after his recall from Stockport County.
However, it has since emerged he is poised to spend the rest of the season with Hull City. A deal is yet to be confirmed but owner Acun Ilicali has said the agreement is done with an announcement seemingly poised to follow.
Rovers boss Eustace wants as a striker and a left winger, but time will tell just what the final days of the window bring.
