Leeds United would not want to tempt fate but if last season is an indicator, they are well on their way to earning promotion to the Premier League. They have built a five-point lead at the top of the Championship standings and are gradually trying to pull away from the chasing pack. Likely, their recruitment team are already working on identifying new signings if they are in the Premier League next season and groundwork is being laid out for potential summer arrivals. Daniel Farke will need better quality players and proper recruitment in the summer if they are to survive in their first season back in the top flight and the German could move for a familiar face in the next window.

The job is not done yet and Leeds United still need to play 15 more Championship games this season. However, the signs are the Whites will finish in the top two and secure automatic promotion to the Premier League.
Leeds are still not guaranteed to be in the Premier League but like most clubs, work for the summer transfer window is already underway and the recruitment team are looking at options.

Given their predicament, Leeds will likely have two different shortlists of targets depending on whether they will be in the Premier League or the Championship.

Leeds should expect massive changes to the squad regardless of the outcome and they are already getting linked with players for a move next summer.

Farke will look to raise the floor of the squad if they are in the Premier League and the Leeds boss could look to bring in a few players familiar to him.

Elvedi could be moved on in the summer as Gladbach look to bring in sweeping changes to their squad at the end of the ongoing campaign.

A move to England appeals to the centre-back and he believes it could be his last opportunity to secure a transfer to the British Isles.

Leeds were interested in the defender last summer and are said to be monitoring his situation at Gladbach at this stage, ahead of the next transfer window.

They have happy memories of shopping in Germany following the signing of Ao Tanaka last summer and Elvedi also played under Farke at Gladbach.

A return to the Premier League is likely to be pivotal if Leeds are to afford to sign a player of his quality in the next summer transfer window.
