The Alabama Crimson Tide’s annual A-Day game will have a bit of a twist in 2025 as many schools are moving away from the traditional Spring game format.

Some schools like Nebraska and Texas have moved away from Spring games entirely due to injuries and the transfer portal, but the Crimson Tide still intend to have a modified scrimmage. This year’s game will kick off at noon on Saturday, April 12, but unlike years past, it will not be broadcasted on TV.

A-Day is always one of the most fun days of the year, with several events going on in Tuscaloosa, like inviting back the previous seasons’ captains to cement their hands next to Denny Chimes. The baseball and softball teams will both be in action as well.

Alabama will begin spring practices next week on Monday, Mar. 3 as DeBoer prepares for his second year in the SEC. DeBoer says of the changes to the spring game,

“A lot of times here, the A-Day Game, it’s been more of a practice, and there’s been some scrimmaging, not necessarily much of a game. Even when I was at Fresno State, we called it the spring preview. Especially this year, there’s some things we’re working through with some injuries and so forth. So it’ll definitely be modified.”

Kickoff for Golden Flake A-Day is set for noon on Saturday, April 12. Don’t miss a full weekend of events in Tuscaloosa!
