Nick Sirianni Sends Clear Message on Contract Extension with Jalen Hurts’ Eagles After Super Bowl Win

Following the Philadelphia Eagles’ triumphant Super Bowl victory, head coach Nick Sirianni has made it clear that securing a long-term contract extension for franchise quarterback Jalen Hurts is a top priority.

Hurts, who delivered an MVP-caliber season and a stellar Super Bowl performance, is entering the final year of his rookie deal in 2023. The Eagles have the option to exercise his fifth-year option, but Sirianni emphasized that the organization is focused on locking him up for the foreseeable future.

“Jalen is our guy. He’s proven it on the biggest stage, and we want him here leading this team for a long time,” Sirianni stated in a post-Super Bowl press conference. “He embodies everything we stand for—toughness, leadership, and a relentless drive to win. We’re going to make sure he’s an Eagle for years to come.”

Hurts’ breakout 2022 campaign, which included 4,461 total yards, 35 touchdowns, and a Super Bowl appearance, has positioned him as one of the NFL’s elite young quarterbacks. His dual-threat ability and poise under pressure have made him indispensable to Philadelphia’s future.

Eagles GM Howie Roseman has a history of securing key players early, and with the salary cap expected to rise, a massive extension for Hurts—potentially in the $45-50 million per year range—could be finalized this offseason.

For now, Eagles fans can breathe easy knowing their head coach and front office are fully committed to building around Hurts as they chase another Lombardi Trophy.
