No Denver Broncos fan wants to relive the Russell Wilson times a few years ago.
Wilson, who played for the Broncos during the 2022 and 2023 seasons, didn’t have his best career years. From an organizational and personal standpoint, the time together didn’t go as planned, and as a result, the Broncos decided to eat his massive contract and cut ties with him.
With everything that happened between Wilson and the Broncos, there was plenty of misinformation and rumors that circulated. However, according to former Broncos guard Dalton Risner, Wilson was one of his favorite teammates he’s ever played with, and quieted any talk about the veteran being a locker room cancer.
This dude grinded,” Risner said in a video. “You wanna know why everyone said he had a parking spot at the Denver Broncos facility? Because Russell Wilson was the first one there and he was the last one to leave. You wanna know why everyone said he had an office? Because Russell Wilson was grinding. Russell Wilson was a great leader.”
Only the guys in the locker room will understand what actually happened between Wilson and the Broncos, but many have made it seem like it’s as bad as things that have been said.
While that could be the case, Wilson has been a great professional throughout his career and hopes to find success with the New York Giants after playing for the Pittsburgh Steelers last season.
Whether it works out in New York or not, Wilson has put together an excellent career for himself, and it’s unfortunate to see how things went in Denver.
