JUST NOW: FC Metz Head Coach Benoît Tavenot Sacked Indefinitely After Poor Run of Results

French club FC Metz have reportedly parted ways with head coach Benoît Tavenot following a difficult stretch of performances that left the club struggling near the bottom of the table.

According to reports emerging on Tuesday morning, club officials held emergency meetings after Metz suffered another disappointing defeat over the weekend. Sources close to the club claim tensions had been building for weeks as fans grew frustrated with the team’s inconsistent form and defensive problems.

Tavenot, who took charge with hopes of rebuilding the squad and securing stability, faced increasing pressure after a series of losses and poor performances against key rivals. Supporters had openly criticized the team’s tactics, while questions were raised about player motivation and dressing-room morale.

In an official statement expected later today, FC Metz are believed to thank Tavenot for his efforts while confirming that an interim manager will take charge until a permanent replacement is appointed.

Several names are already being linked with the vacant role, including experienced Ligue 1 managers and former Metz coaching staff members.
