Aston Villa have reportedly emerged as a potential destination for Celtic midfielder Mika Baur, with claims suggesting that a five-year contract could be on the table.

The German midfielder has attracted attention after making the move to Celtic from SC Paderborn earlier this month. However, reports of a completed five-year agreement with Aston Villa have not been confirmed by reliable sources.

Baur, 22, joined Celtic for a reported deal worth around £6.8 million, signing an initial four-year contract with an option for an additional year.

The midfielder arrives with a strong reputation after helping Paderborn secure promotion to the Bundesliga. Last season, he recorded four goals and five assists in 33 league appearances and was named the club’s player of the year.

A move to Aston Villa would therefore represent another major step in Baur’s rapidly developing career. Villa could view his technical ability, energy and versatility as valuable qualities for their midfield.

For now, though, Celtic remain Baur’s confirmed club, and supporters should treat claims of a five-year Aston Villa contract as transfer speculation rather than a completed deal.
