A transfer battle has reportedly erupted in the Scottish Premiership, with Aberdeen manager Jimmy Thelin and Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers at odds over Dons captain and striker Bojan Miovski.
Celtic are believed to have identified the North Macedonia international as a key target and see him as an ideal addition to their attacking options. Rodgers has praised Miovski’s quality, describing him as a player capable of fitting Celtic’s style and ambitions.
However, Thelin is understood to be strongly opposed to the idea of losing his star striker. The Aberdeen boss considers Miovski central to his plans and believes his departure could seriously damage the club’s ambitions for the season.
Reports suggest Celtic have already tested Aberdeen’s resolve with an initial offer of around £5 million, which was rejected. The Glasgow giants could now return with an improved proposal as they attempt to convince Aberdeen to sell.
Thelin is expected to continue pushing for Miovski to remain at Pittodrie, while Rodgers and Celtic remain determined to strengthen their squad.
With both clubs reportedly refusing to back down, the transfer saga could develop into one of the most closely watched battles before the deadline.
