Transfer reports have once again placed Arsenal midfielder Martín Zubimendi at the centre of speculation linking him with a move to Real Madrid.

The Spanish international has reportedly attracted renewed interest from Real Madrid, with some reports claiming that the midfielder could be open to returning to Spain after only one season in North London. ESPN has also reported that Real Madrid are looking at Zubimendi as a potential midfield target.

Zubimendi joined Arsenal from Real Sociedad in 2025 for a reported €70 million and quickly became an important part of Mikel Arteta’s squad. However, speculation about his future has intensified following Arsenal’s midfield changes and the arrival of Bruno Guimarães.

Real Madrid’s interest is not entirely new. The Spanish giants have admired Zubimendi for some time, and several reports have suggested that they could explore a move before the transfer window closes.

However, there is currently no confirmed agreement that Zubimendi has verbally agreed to leave Arsenal for Real Madrid. In fact, reports today indicate that Arteta has rejected the possibility of losing the midfielder and considers him an important part of his plans.

For now, Arsenal supporters will be watching the situation closely. If Real Madrid make a serious approach, the Gunners could face a major decision over one of their Spanish midfielder’s future.
