With a new Daryl Dike blow, Brandon Thomas-Asante is now slated for the most crucial West Brom period.
Daryl Dike, the West Brom striker, might not play again in 2023, which means Brandon Thomas-Asante will likely go through his most crucial year at The Hawthorns.
Birmingham Live (12 September) reported that it is quite likely that West Brom supporters won’t get to witness the American international play on the field at The Hawthorns again until 2024.
Dike underwent successful surgery on his Achilles in April, but the injury kept him out for six months. He is still in the early phases of his recovery.
Fans of West Brom will be hoping that Dike can quickly reintegrate into the club whenever that may be, and they will most likely be hoping that he does so in December, during the key Christmas season, rather than later.
But until then, West Brom’s manager Carlos Corberan already has Josh Maja and Thomas-Asante at his disposal, both of whom are on track to fill his shoes. However, with the Albion harboring high aspirations to become serious promotion contenders, both players bear enormous responsibility for scoring the goals necessary for West Brom to meet those aspirations.

But Corberan remained steadfast, and he is positive that he will score goals for West Brom.
While Albion has had a mixed start in terms of results, the 24-year-old has two goals and an assist in four league games.
With only 12 goals in 40 appearances as a West Brom striker so far [Transfermarkt], his total record shows a player who may not have what it takes.
With his outstanding speed and technical skill, he most definitely has the ability to challenge the defense and emerge as the
However, there is always potential for development, and Thomas-Asante’s summer purchase of Maja from Bordeaux by Corberan is ideally intended to provide him the boost he needs to improve his form and consistency.
It remains to be seen if the former Salford City forward can perform well for West Brom without Dike, but the 24-year-old is undoubtedly in for the toughest and most crucial stretch of his career to far.
