Rafael Aranda, a sports scientist, is expected to join West Brom, according to Birmingham Live. Carlos Corberan is planning to expand his coaching team at the Baggies once more.

On Monday, September 18, the newspaper published a story on its website stating that Corberan had received support to bring the lecturer from the Universitat de Valencia to The Hawthorns as a consultant despite having little money available to him in the transfer market this summer.

The former Leeds United assistant manager has found it challenging to shuffle the pack on the field, but he has been able to rearrange his backroom staff to his heart’s content, adding Michael Hefele, Damia Abella, and Marcos Abad to the ranks.

Rafael Aranda has been brought in as a consultant, borrowed from Universitat de Valencia, and he brings with him a lot of knowledge and skill in the domains of physical activity and sports science, degrees in which he teaches. Joseph Chapman writes about the newest arrival.

“Corberan hasn’t been able to spend millions of pounds on the transfer market, but what Albion have been able to do is sanction additions to support his decision-making with senior personnel to help him reinforce his methods and plans for the future.”

Going forward

Tony Pulis said on the Baggies Broadcast that West Brom needed to support Corberan to keep him at The Hawthorns, and although not in the usual fashion, it appears that the Baggies have followed through on that.

Despite the Albion’s somewhat lackluster performance during the transfer window, it is obvious that, given the financial constraints, those in charge are doing everything they can to make the manager as content as possible with his employment in the Midlands.

The Spaniard is not seen by West Brom as a short-term candidate to lead their team, and the club is using all of its resources to make sure that everyone at The Hawthorns shares Corberan’s philosophy.

It is unclear how long he will lead the Albion, but every choice being made behind the scenes suggests they want to keep him in place for the foreseeable future. They are attempting to create a team and a club that reflect his ideas and image.
