Due to injuries, Michael Olise is expected to miss the next two months.
So far this season, the young French attacker has had ups and downs. Due to a hamstring injury that kept him out of action for the first three months of the season, 22-year-old Olise has been forced to watch Roy Hodgson’s struggling Eagles from the sidelines.
And even though the 22-year-old made a comeback to the field at the end of the previous month, having only played 11 minutes in the 4-1 loss to Brighton the previous weekend, Olise will now miss the majority of the remaining games in the season, according to a Standard report.
There will be a lot of questions raised about Palace’s medical staff and why their number seven was let to play again so quickly just to aggravate his hamstring.
The Frenchman’s most recent problem will be a serious setback for Palace, who could find themselves embroiled in a heated relegation struggle.
Hodgson is also under a great deal of uncertainty because, based on recent reports—including this one from HITC—he may be replaced by Steve Cooper before the season ends.
As for Olise, he has been Palace’s finest player along with Eberechi Eze, despite the winger’s inability to put together a consistent run of games this season. The wide player from London has only played in 11 Premier League games, but he has managed to record three assists and six goals despite his spells out.
