Manchester United have pulled off a massive transfer coup, beating rivals Chelsea to the signature of Feyenoord’s star goalkeeper Justin Bijlow.

Sources close to the club say Ten Hag made the Dutch No.1 his top target after reviewing United’s goalkeeping options. Chelsea were reportedly in advanced talks for weeks, but United swooped in late and agreed a €45m deal with Feyenoord this morning.

Bijlow, 26, has been called the “Paramount Keeper” in the Eredivisie for 3 seasons running. With 2.1 saves per 90 and elite distribution, he’s exactly the modern sweeper-keeper profile United have been looking for.

The Netherlands international is expected in Manchester for a medical within 48 hours. Personal terms are already agreed on a 5-year contract worth €180k per week.

This is a huge statement signing and a direct blow to Chelsea, who now have to go back to the market.
